KATA & SHIAI COMPETITION

  •      Sunday 8:00am at the Tournament Site: Burnt Hills - Ballston Lake High School 88       Lakehill Rd, Burnt Hills, NY 12027

Eligibility:  US COMPETITORS:  Must be a current member of USJI, USJA, USJF or ATJA. Online membership available for USA Judo, USJF and USJA on day of tournament.

Age:  5 years of age or older.

Rules: 

  • IJF Modified Contest Rules & Golden Score.
  • No Chokes or Armlocks 12 years old and younger.
  • No Chokes or Armlocks in Novice.
  • No Armlocks in 13-14 age divisions.
  • Chokes & Armlocks Allowed in U18 (Cadet), U21 (IJF Jr), Brown Belt, Elite & Masters.
  • Blue & White gis required for Elite divisions.

Scoring System:  True Double Elimination

Match Times:  

  • Juniors, Novice & Masters - 3 minutes
  • Senior Men & Women - 4 minutes

Competition Begins: Sunday

  • Doors Open at 7am
  • 8 am - Kata Competition starts at 
  • 9:30 am - Sr. Elite, Masters, Brown Belt, Novice & U18 (Cadet)
  • 12 pm - Juniors & U21 (IJF Jr) approximately

Registration & Weigh-ins:

  • Saturday:  6 - 9pm at the JASON MORRIS JUDO CENTER 584 Saratoga Rd., Glenville, NY 12302
  • Sunday: 7:30am - 8:30am Sr Elite weigh-ins at BH-BL High School 88 Lakehill Rd., Burnt Hills, NY 12027
  • Sunday: 8am - 9am Masters, Brown Belts, Novice & U18 at BH-BL High School
  • Sunday: 9am - 11am Juniors 12 years and under at at BH-BL High School
  • Sunday: 11am - 12pm Juniors 13-14 & U21 (can check in and weigh in earlier)
  • Athletes fighting in more than one division only needs to weigh-in once! Athletes moving up to a higher weight division, does so at their own risk and does not need to re-weigh.
  • The tournament directors reserve the right to make any changes they deem necessary to insure the safety and fairness to all competitors.

Entry Fees:

  • $75 per person on or before October 2 & $30 for second division.
  • Late fee: $85 & $35 for second division
  • No Spectator fees
  • Sr Elite is pre-registration only through Saturday October 8. Weigh-in on Sunday until 8:30am for Sr Elite.

Awards:

  • Medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place
  • $250 Prize money for 1st place winners of the men and women elite divisions (Olympic weight classes only). A division must have at least 5 competitors to qualify for the prize money. Competitors who desire to win money and who do not have enough competitors in their division may move up to the next weight class. 

Food:

  • Food available for purchase at concession stand on site. Breakfast starting at 8am!
  • There will be a hospitality room for coaches, referees and staff.
